Devon Dumplings v Arden Taverners
DD 263 for 9 (45 overs); Arden Taverners 195 all out (32.2 overs) - DD won by 68 runs
Dumplings returned to Shobrooke Park for their fixture against Arden Taverners, greeted by good overhead conditions and a healthy crowd of supporters. Tallan Burns elected to bat after winning the toss.
After the early loss of Daldorph (4) and Kandampully (16) Dumplings were on the back foot at 61 for 5 following a quick burst from Archie Walker (3 for 27). But the innings was dramatically rebuilt by Leon Horn, who played with composure and aggression to make a superb 88 off 86 balls (9 fours, 2 sixes), combining first with Kian Burns (25) and then Shaquan Glasgow, who launched a blistering counter-attack of 57 off 49 balls, including 2 sixes. Together, Horn and Glasgow added 77 for the 7th wicket, taking Dumplings well past 200. A few late wickets fell but the tail held firm, with Pete Turner (5*) and Sangeeth Sohan (2*) seeing the innings through to a respectable 263 for 9 from 45 overs.
In reply, Arden Taverners started brightly, reaching 43 for 1, but the introduction of Aryan Lakra turned the match decisively. Lakra bowled with flight, control, and bite, running through the Taverners’ middle and lower order to finish with outstanding figures of 5 for 30 from 6.5 overs.
There were useful contributions from Sam Gill (44) and Andrew Frettingham (45), who added 50 for the 8th wicket, but they were both removed in quick succession, and the chase came to an end. Sangeeth Sohan (2 for 50) and Harry Kandampully (1 for 14) also chipped in with important breakthroughs, while Tallan Burns and Shaquan Glasgow picked up a wicket apiece.
Arden Taverners were bowled out for 195 in 32.2 overs, handing Dumplings a convincing 68-run victory.

A dominant performance from Dumplings with bat and ball, highlighted by Lakra’s five-wicket haul and the middle-order fireworks from Horn and Glasgow. Thank you to Arden Taverners for a spirited contest, and to umpires Tim Chapman, scorers Gary Hudson and Lucy Williams, and to Wendy for her continued help with all things behind the scenes.
